Proposed LEED Williamsburg Hotel
Miami-based Oppenheim Architecture + Design recently won an international design competition sponsored by the project’s developer with this gorgeous rendering of the 244-room, 440-foot high, 3-tower LEED Platinum hotel in the heart of Williamsburg’s Southside neighborhood. Brooklyn Tailors
Tucked in front of the BQE in Williamsburg’s southside, Brooklyn Tailors was established in 2007 by Brenna and Daniel Lewis as a bespoke atelier for handmade quality, authentic materials and bespoke craftsmanship. Their Standard Slim Tie for example is handmade of 100% wool, with a free-floating interlining and finished with a hand slip stitching and bar tack. It is a bit shorter and slimmer than most ties, but not to be confused with the trendy “skinny” tie. To find out more about Brooklyn Tailors, visit their store at 385 Grand Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn or website.

Eva Franco
We love this gorgeous design by Eva Franco, which was just that – a design (sample 1231), until readers of ModCloth picked it via the website’s “Be the Buyer” series. Now we hear it’s in production with heavy demand and likely to sell out rather quickly. Keep track of this and other possible designs here.

iPhone Mic by TASCAM
Want to capture interviews, concerts and breaking news with the clarity of the semi-pro you are? Then the iPhone paired with the iM2 mic by TASCAM ($80) is what you’ve been looking for. Containing the same high quality condenser microphones as found in TASCAM’s best selling DR series, the iM2 captures detailed stereo imaging for low noise and great audio quality. The iM2 also features its own preamp (instead of relying on the iPhone’s), allowing it to capture loud concerts and instruments without distortion. Now fire up the iPhone’s HD video camera and you’ve suddenly found yourself a highly respectable albeit way too easy filmmaking tool.
